VolunteerHub October 2026 Release Notes

Visual Changes and Stability Improvements:

The look and feel of many pages have changed, and with this also faster load times and greater stability.

Users Page

Mainly a visual change, but also the filter options are now a dropdown similar to the Events Page.

Multi-Event Editor

Filtering options now mirror the Events Page.  No actual changes to how it operates other than how you'd filter for the events to be modified.  Subsequent pages have a slightly updated look but remain the same.

Deduplicate Page

Updated look, but also each entry now provides more context about which user data matches and/or differs between the two accounts.

Advanced Waivers Page

Visually updated.  Deactivating (retiring) a waiver is now done through a toggle instead of having to edit the waiver itself.

Uploads Page

Slight visual change.

Donations Page

Slight visual change.

Import & Export Pages

Slight visual changes.  No changes to functionality.

Event & Template Creation Pages

Slight visual changes.  No changes to options or button positions.

Event Details Page

Visual change to Registered Users section.

User Group reservations can be collapsed and expanded.

Click the pencil to edit a reservation and the trash can to remove it.

Administrators can now answer an Event Registration when manually registering a volunteer and may edit their answer when editing their registration.

The Event Details are now a separate tab as opposed to a pane on the left:

Once on the 'Details' pane, the edit button displays.

Templates Page

Similar to the Event Details page, Templates now display the details within a 'Detail's pane:

From here it can be edited.

Deleted Future Instances within a Template

It has always been true that should you delete future instances of a template, either individually or by deleting the template, that those instances still exist though are in a deleted state.  Much like deleted one-time events, these deleted instances can be undeleted.

If I were to delete the future instances of a template, and then through that temple 'add' an instances to that day, the previously deleted instance simply undeletes itself (with an updated time should that have been different when adding the instance).  To make it more clear that this is what is happening, the Template Details page now displays these deleted instances.  These are not visible to volunteers and are not visible on the Events page unless set to display deleted events.

Approved Hours Page

Slight visual change to the Approve Hours page.  All functionality remains the same.

Landing Pages

Slight visual change to the list of existing landing pages.  The longer URL now displays as a secure link (HTTPS) and can be sent to volunteers.

Creating New Landing Pages

When initially creating a new landing page, the Name, Address, and Behavior settings are required for the page to be created with branding, messages, and workflows being set after the page is created.

Once created, click the name of the landing page to display additional options:

From here, workflows can be added and the look-and-feel modified.

Legacy Reports: Updated Filter Interface

No changes to the actual functionality of Legacy Reports, however the filtering options have been modernized.

Events Report: New Columns Added

The events report now has the following new columns:

    • Event Total Limit Slots (formerly Event Slot Limit)

        - Maximum number of slots

    • Event Remaining Slots

        - Number of slots unreserved and available slots

    • Event Reserved Slots

        - Number of slots reserved for a User Group(s)

    • Event Filled Slots

        - Number of slots already taken

These columns allow for using the Event Report for better visibility of the fill-rates of both past and future events without needing to report on the actual people registered for the event.

Reports: Sort and Search Custom User Form Questions

Previously, not all columns added to reports had the ability to sort and search.  Custom fields could be added to reports, but those columns lacked the ability to sort based on that data or to search within that field.

In the example below from the Users report, 'School Name' and 'Hours Needed' could previously be added to the report but there was not a way to search/filter through the answers users had provided.

Volunteer View: Additional 'Time of Day' filters

Previously volunteers had the options to filter based on either morning or afternoon.  The options are now:

    • Morning (starts between 6 am to noon)

    • Afternoon (starts between noon to 6 pm)

    • Evening (starts between 6 pm to midnight)

    • Overnight (starts between midnight to 6 am)

Events set as 'All Day' or those that span multiple days display regardless of filter.

Event Cancellation Reason

Volunteers are now prompted to optionally provide a reason after they cancel their registration for an event.

This data is available within the Event Cancellations report as the 'Cancellation Reason'.

Volunteer Event Registration 'Share' Options

The three methods a volunteer may use to share an event they have register for are now nested within a dropdown instead of being stand-alone buttons.

Multiple Time Zone Support

This new feature can only be enabled by VolunteerHub Support.  Please submit a ticket should you want this feature enabled.

Previously each VolunteerHub site could only accommodate a single time zone.  If the site was set to Eastern Time but the event was in Central Time, should a volunteer use the 'Add to my calendar' button, that event would add to their calendar an hour off.  This caused many organizations that span multiple time zones to disable the 'add to my calendar' option all together.

With Multiple Time Zones enabled, each one-time event contains an option to select a time zone:

When creating a template, there is no option for time zone.  Templates default to the time zone set on Settings > Organization.

Once an instances is created from a template, each instances then has the option to edit and change its time zone.

This may also be done in bulk via the Multi-Event Editor.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed several bugs related to various filters within reports.  Reports could previously crash when adding some complex filters as well as groupings.
  • Fixed the ability to search by email address on the User page.
