While a tag titled "Instructors" can be used to grant certain permissions to your instructors, an existing user must be assigned as an instructor in order for that individual to appear in the schedule and be assigned to any scheduled flight. The below instructions will walk you through adding and configuring an instructor in the system so they can appear in the schedule.

Note that creating a tag called "Instructors" is not the same as indicating a member as an instructor per the instructions below.

Begin by clicking on System Configuration in the Control Panel on the right side of the Home Page (Figure 1).

On the next page, click on the Instructors link. You will then see a page listing any instructors currently in your system (Figure 2). To add a new member as an instructor, select that member from the drop-down at the bottom of the page and click the add link beside it. The new instructor must already be a member of your organization in SkyManager.

After clicking the add link, the user will be listed on the page and is now identified by SkyManager as a Flight Instructor. You can now associate a charge type or set of charges with that instructor by clicking the edit link beside her or her name. The Edit Instructor window will appear, allowing you to select an existing charge type from the Instruction Charge drop-down menu. To associate a group of charges with the instructor, be sure to choose the parent category of those charges.

To remove an existing instructor so he or she no longer appears in the schedule, click edit beside that instructor's name in the list of instructors, then click the Remove button in the Edit Instructor window.
