Oftentimes events are thought of as having a defined start and end time (e.g., working a shift in the kitchen from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday), but there are several ways to structure the time-formats of events.

Event Type Examples

Start Time to End Time Events

This is the most common way events are formatted in VolunteerHub.  These events take place during a defined amount of time set within a single day.

Within the Volunteer View, these events display the start and end times in a pill above the name of the event.  Under the event is the day of the week, date, start and end times and duration.

Start Time to End of Event

This event is created by setting both the start and end time and date to the same values.  These events have a defined time that they begin but no preset end.

Within the Volunteer View, these events display with the start time in the pill above the name of the event.  Under the event is the day of the week, date, start time and duration.

All Day Events

An All Day event is accomplished by setting the start and end date to consecutive days and leaving the default values for time (12:00 am).

Within the Volunteer View, these events display with no defined start or end time, just the date of the event.

Multi-Day Events

Multi-Day events span many days, weeks, or months.

Within the Volunteer View, these events always display at the top of the list.  The pill above the event name displays the date range of the event, and no time nor duration of hours is present.

If set to calendar view, multi-day events only display once, as the top event on the current day.
